Background
Ted Olsen is a serial entrepreneur and principal at Neowise, LLC, a partner at BLU Venture Investors and Next Gen Venture Partners. Previously, Ted was co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aqualith Advanced Materials. Prior to Aqualith, Mr. Olsen was the founder and CEO of PathSensors which he sold to Smiths Group in 2020. He has a twenty-five-year track record in biotechnology. In the late 1990’s, he was one of the early employees at Corvis Corporation, a telecommunications company which raised $1.2B via a public offering in 2000.
Earlier in his career, Ted worked through a series of management roles in glass, ceramics, and telecommunications at Corning, Inc. His expertise is product / process development and manufacturing operations.
Mr. Olsen has been engaged on the board of directors of ALM Ortho, Returnalyze, WavelyDx, PathSensors, Astek Diagnostics, Trially, and Eyeguide. He served as a member of the State of Maryland’s Life Science Advisory board for seven years. Currently he is chair of the University of Maryland’s CEO round table and an advisor and mentor to: Georgetown University’s start-up accelerator, TechStars Equitech Accelerator, The Maryland Tech Council, The Biotechnology Institute of Maryland, and Baltimore City Community College’s biotechnology program.
