Nicole Geller

PARTNER EMERITUS

Nicole joined Blu Venture Investors as a partner after nearly 17 years as the founder and seasoned CEO of a mid-sized global government contracting company, which she sold in 2014. Based on her M&A experience as both a leader in business development and management, Nicole today helps other CEOs and teams gain clarity and focus of their strategic growth objectives for transformation and successful exits. Having experienced first hand market pivots, uncontrolled and controlled growth, mid-sized business challenges, M&A and executive team building, Nicole understands the factors and best practices that can be invaluable to increasing the economic value of a business. She also serves on four private company boards and as a trustee of the GMU Foundation Board. Prior to starting her former company, GCS, Inc., she was a manager at Booz Allen Hamilton and PRC, where she managed large federal, commercial, and global contracts, subcontracts, and negotiations for enterprise system integrations.

As a former founder and now early-stage investor, Nicole finds working with startups exciting, challenging, and rewarding and enjoys working with companies from the startup phase to exit strategy and preparation. Using her experience as a leader in business development and management, she helps startups strategize how to capture new business and mentors teams to optimize overall performance, navigate the very toughest business challenges and create opportunities for growth.

What skills/experiences do you bring from your background?

I bring both a large scale enterprise selling, delivery background as well as the experience of starting and growing my own mid-sized company, from pivoting our offerings to follow market trends to successfully exiting. As a Founder and CEO, I have run a company in the best of times and the worst of times. After some strategic research and planning, I was able to execute a successful, exit in a down market.

What drives you to invest in early stage companies?

I enjoy the startup phase to exit strategy and preparation and find working with startups exciting, challenging and rewarding. Startups teams are engaged, passionate and create new and exciting products for the business community. Who wouldn’t want to be part of that?
